Annual Worth(AW)

  • AW is easy to calculate and easy to understand. AW 참 쉽죠잉~ 
  • PW method랑 가정이 동일함 (무슨 가정이었지..?)
  • AW는 equivalent annual worth(EAW), equivalent annual cost(EAC), annual eqivalent(AE)랑 같은 말임

6.1 Advantage and Uses of Annual Worth Analysis

 

AW를 사용할 때 좋은 점

  • PW, FW보다 좋을 때가 있음
  • AW is easy to understand by individual acquainted with annual amounts (ex. 매 년 지불해야할 달러)
  • 그냥 A를 찾는 거랑 똑같음

i : MARR, n : number of years(for equal-service comparison)

AW를 사용할 때 좋은 점 (2)

  • life cycle을 한 번만 계산하면 모든 aw는 동일하니까 편함
  • 한 라이프 사이클에 대해 결정된 AW 값은 모든 미래 라이프 사이클에 대한 AW이다. 
  • 따라서 다른 life cycle에 대해 project를 비교한다면
    • LCM을 사용 안해도 ㄱㅊ음
    • 각 대안에 대해서 첫 번째 cycle AW만 계산!
  • But 다음과 같은 가정이 들어감
    • The services provided are needed for at least the LCM of the lives of the alternatives
    • 첫 번째 cyle과 동일하게 뒤에도 cycle이 반복됨
    • All cash flows will have the same estimated values in every life cycle

제공되는 서비스는 최소한 대안의 수명에 대한 LCM에 필요합니다.?? 모든
 현금 흐름은 모든 라이프 사이클에서 동일한 estimated 값을 갖습니다.

 

  • 첫 번째 가정을 위해서 project의 time은 forever임
  • 첫 번째랑 두 번째 가정이 not reasonable 하면 study period를 도입함

 

6.2 Calcaulation of Captial Recovery and AW values

 

Cash Flows

  • An alternative should have the following cash flow estimates
  • Initial investment(P) : 처음 시작할 때 투자 비용
    • 이러한 투자의 일부가 수 년 동안 진행될 때 PW는 초기 투자와 동등합니다.
    • When portions of these investments take place over several years, their PW is an equivalent initial investment.)
  • Salvage value(S) : 다 쓰고 팔 때 비용
    • Study period 일 때, salvage value가 발생하는 기간보다 study period가 더 짧으면 그냥 study period의 끝에서 발생으로 가정
  • Anuual amount(A) : equivalent annual amount
    • often call annual operating cost(AOC)

AW Value

  • AW는 두 개의 구성 요소로 이루어짐
    • 1. Capital recovery(CR) for the initial investment P at a stated interest rate(usually MARR)
    • 한국말 : 초기 투자 P에 대한 자본 회수 CR => 즉 이자율 같은 느낌(MARR)
    • 2. Equivalent annual amount A

  • A =  recurring amounts + non-recurring amounts
  • Capital recovery(CR) : equivalent annual amount that must be earned each year to just recover the initial investment plus a stated rate of return,
    한국말 : 매년 초기 투자액과 명시된 수익률을 회복하기 위해 매년 벌어야 하는 연간 금액.
    • A/P로 P를 변경
    • A/F로 S를 변경
    • Find the equivalent annual cost(=AW)

 

6.3 Evaluating Alternatives by Annual Worth Analysis

 

Different-Life Alternatives

  • MARR이 정해졌을 때 AW method가 편함
  • select하는 절차는 PW랑 같음(mutually exclusive 기억나지?)
